UPS

What is a UPS?

A UPS, or Uninterruptible Power Supply, safeguards electronic devices by providing backup power during power disruptions or outages. It relies on batteries to store electrical energy and which constantly outputs clean and safe power where needed, ensuring uninterrupted operation of connected devices.

UPS systems are essential for protecting computers, servers, networking equipment, and other sensitive electronics from damage or data loss caused by sudden power failures. In contrast, inverters primarily convert DC power from batteries or solar panels into AC power for general house-hold, commercial or industrial use.

While both UPS and inverters provide backup power during outages, they serve different purposes: UPS systems offer immediate and seamless power backup, while inverters are designed for converting and distributing power which typically features a 10-40 millisecond crossover from mains fail to inverter output. Alpha Power will carefully determine the correct solution to meet your specific requirements.
